Preparation

Step 1

Cut up onion —diced and set aside.
Ahead of time (up to 24 hrs)... Mix beef and next 6 ingredients together. Place a 9 x 13 baking pan lined with parchment paper and spread beef mixture over entire surface in a flat layer spreading all the way to the sides.
Take a knife and cut 12 equal pcs on meat mixture. Then take a straw or your finger and poke 5 holes in each one (one in center, 2 at top, 2 at bottom).
Put plastic wrap over and freeze for up to 24 hrs. (Doesn’t need to sit that long — I had it the freezer about 6 hrs)

Next.. separate tops and bottoms of rolls.. put pickle slices on bottom rolls and set aside.
When ready to cook preheat oven to 450. Take beef out of freezer, break into individual 12 squares. Take another 9 x 13 baking pan and put cut up diced onion all over the bottom. Add another 1/2 cup consommé and let sit for about 30 min.
Take out beef patties and break up along perforations. Put on top of onion/consommé mixture. Bake 10 min. Take out of oven and top with cut up cheese slices and put top of buns on .. Put back in oven and bake another 4-5 min.
Take out, scoop patties onto bottom rolls ..and they’re done! DELICIOUS!

They really don’t need mustard, ketchup or anything!
