Ingredients

  • 2 T butter
  • 3T flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cheese
  • 5-6 medium potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare bechemel sauce with butter flour salt pepper and milk
Cook until thickened and bubbly
Let set 2 minutes then stir in cheese

Step 2

Spray 1 1/2 qt baking dish with non stick oil
Place 1/2 of potatoes in dish
Place 1/2 of sliced onions on potatoes
Layer 1/2 of cheese sauce on next
Repeat layering
Add extra shredded cheese

Step 3

Cover baking dish
Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes
Uncover and bake 10-15 minutes longer or until bubbly and potatoes are tender
