Ingredients
- 1 C and 2 T Cake Flour
- 1 3/4 C Sugar (divided)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 tsp cr of tartar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 tsp (scant) Almond
- 1 3/4 C Egg whites , room temp
- (about a doz)
- Frosting:
- 2 Lbs Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3/4 C Water
- 1 1/2 C Crisco
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Scant tsp Almod
- Mix with mixer for 10 mins

Step 1
Flour and 3/4 C sugar. Begin beating egg whites slowly and add salt, cr of tartar and flavorings while mixing. Increase speed and beat until egg whites hold peaks (tips bent over) Fold in cup of sugar gradually. Fold in flour/sugar mixture gradually with wire whip. Put in pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 mins. Cool completely.
