Creamy brussel sprouts with bacon

Ingredients
- 10 slices of bacon (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tbsp. of olive oil
- 2 lbs of brussel sprouts (trimmed and cut in half)
- salt and pepper to season
- 2 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of dried thyme
- 1.5 cups of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of mozzarella sherdded

Preparation
Step 1
Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until very crisp, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Turn off heat and transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate
Step 2
In the same pan, melt 2 tbsp of butter, then add olive oil and the brussels sprouts. season them with salt, pepper, garlic powder onion powder and dried thyme right in the pan.
Step 3
Cook brussel sprouts on medium high heat of 8 - 10 minutes to ensure browning of the sprouts. Scrape up any browned bits fromthe bottom of the pan while cooking
Step 4
Next pour in the heavy cream, reduce heat down to low and allow to simmer until tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Add the bacon in abd mix to combine all the flavors together. Top the sprouts with the mozzarella cheese and increase the heat. the cheese will quickly melt ontop of the warm sauce and will thicken it
Step 6
Simmer for additional 5 - 10 minutes.
Step 7
Season with a little extra pepper and more mozzarella cheese before serving.
Step 8
Serve immediately
