  • 12 slices white bread without crust
  • 12 slices ham
  • 12 slices cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 eggs
  • dry mustard to taste
  • hot pepper sauce to taste
  • butter (to spread on bread slices front and back)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter 12 slices bread front and back.

Step 2

Layer six slices with ham and cheese in 9- by 12-inch baking pan. Put other six buttered slices on top of ham and cheese.

Step 3

Mix milk, eggs and other ingredients in bowl. Pour over bread, cover. Let stand overnight in refrigerator. Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to one hour.
