Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups softened butter
- 1-8oz. pkg. softened cream cheese
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teas. vanilla extract
- 3 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 1/8 teas. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Beat the butter and cream cheese at med. speed for 2 minutes or until creamy.
Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes.
Add eggs to the mixture one at a time, beating just until the yellow disappears.
Add vanilla, mix well.
Combine the flour and salt.
Gradually add to butter mixture, beating on low speed, just until blended after each addition.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.
Use an overproof pan, fill with 2 cups of water and place it in the oven with the tube pan.
Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan on wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on the wire rack.
