Bernie's Calico Beans

Ingredients

• 2- 31oz can pork ‘n beans
• 1- 16oz can kidney beans
• 1- 16oz can kidney beans
• 1 cup catsup
• 1 tablespoon mustard (I use dry mustard)
• 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
• 1 tablespoon vinegar
• 2 pound ground beef
• 1 pound bacon
• 2 tablespoons instant minced onion
• (I’ve been cutting up a whole onion
• & frying it in the bacon grease)
• salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Cook ground beef loosely, drain grease.
Cook bacon remove from grease drain on paper towel
Cut up onion and sauté in bacon grease, remove from grease.
Place pork’n beans in crock pot. Drain all other beans
and add to the pot.
Add catsup, mustard, vinegar, onion and brown sugar.
Stir thoroughly add meats and stir again.
Cook on low 6 hours.
