Stained Glass Cookies

Ingredients

• 4 1/2 to 5 cups flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 c salted butter
• 2 c sugar
• 2 eggs beaten
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 2 tlbs milk
• Rolls of lifesavers.

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, baking powder and salt - set aside

Beat butter and sugar; add eggs, vanilla and milk. Beat until light and fluffy.

Gradually add flour mixture until blended. Store in refrigerator over night.

Roll dough to 1/8 inch thick. Using various shapes of cookie cutters cut out cookies. Using a small cookie cutter cut shape in the middle of cookie.

Cookie sheet is lined with aluminum foil shinny side up and spray with PAM.

Place cookies on prepared cookie sheet. Add approximately 1/4 to 1/2 crushed lifesavers to cut out portion. Bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 12 minutes or until edges of cookies are slightly brown. Let cookies cool on sheet until crushed lifesver has harden.
