Makes

bag (8 oz) shredded American-Cheddar cheese blend (2 cups)

In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix potatoes, onion, celery, broth and water.

Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.

In small bowl, mix flour into milk; stir into potato mixture. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 20 to 30 minutes or until mixture thickens. Stir in cheese until melted. Garnish individual servings with bacon and green onions. Sprinkle with pepper if desired.

Absolutely fabulous and so easy to make!

I often use celery salt in it as well, and substitute the bacon for ham, as well as used real diced potatos. As well as sometimes add broccoli. This recipe is great! I've made it twice so far, and the leftovers were even better than when it was first made.

I suggest adding a spoonful of sour cream and a little bit more cheese on top when serving. Really adds to it!

I'm waiting to see if this is going to thicken some more and be a little creamier. BUT....I must say that this is some tasty soup! I love it! I added the broth, new potatoes from a can (drained), onion, ham pieces, bacon bits, salt and pepper. Just added milk and cheese and some instant mashed potatoes to thicken. It's coming along, but not as creamy as I was hoping for. But I will definitely be doing this again to try and perfect it!

I made this for dinner tonight and it was very yummy! I did add 2 lbs browned ground turkey, used 3-14oz cans of broth and was very heavy handed with the flour for the slurry at the end, we are a meat and potatoes family here. I didn't add the garnish to individual servings as I was short on time and the extra ingredients. Served it with slices of french bread. My youngest son had seconds. Very Good would definetly make again.

Awesome, put the ingredient in the slow cooker and leave it. My family loves it. I add some extra spices but other than that it is great.
