Ingredients
- 6 slices Challah, or Sourdough, 1 1/2” thick
- 1 3/4 ounce bar milk chocolate
- 2 T chopped almonds, pistachios, or pecans
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur or milk
- oil, butter, or margarine
- maple syrup
- sifted powdered sugar

Step 1
Heat griddle to 350º F. Make a pocket in each bread slice, making cut in bottom crust and slicing through center of bread almost to top crust. Break chocolate into 6 pieces. Place 1 in each pocket. Add 1 teaspoon of chopped almonds to each one.
In shallow dish, beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, and coffee liqueur. Dip bread into egg mixture for 15 seconds on each side. Add oil as needed to griddle. Cook bread until golden, turning once. Serve with warm maple syrup.
