Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter/hard margarine
  • 1 tbsp steak sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, fresh or bottled
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 lbs. fish fillets (cod, sole, etc)
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Add steak sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, soy sauce and salt. Stir.

Dip fillets in sauce. Reserve remaining sauce. Arrange fillets on greased baking pan large enough to hold in single layer. Bake in 350 oven for about 20 minutes until fish flakes with fork. Remove fillets to plate.

Mix water and cornstarch in small cup. Pour juice from pan and reserved sauce into small saucepan. Heat to boiling. Stir in cornstarch mixture. Continue to stir until mixture boils and thickens. Pour over fish fillets.
