Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp shortening
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and add sugar. Add egg and milk, then sifted dry ingredients. Pour maple syrup in bottome of baking dish and pour batter on top of it. Do not stir the batter into the maple syrup. Bake until cake is cooked, then turn pudding out of baking dish. Serve with whipped cream and nuts.
