Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken pieces
- 2 1/2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks in syrup
- 1 can broth
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 teaspoons shoyu
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 green pepper, diced 1 1/2 inches
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water

Step 1
Brown chicken in frying pan with shortening. Drain oil. Add pineapple syrup to chicken (do not add pineapple chunks yet); add chicken broth, vinegar, shoyu, sugar and garlic. Cook over low heat and covered for 30 minutes. Add green peppers and pineapple chunks and cook for 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.
Mix cornstarch with water and slowly add to the sauce; stir until thickened.
