Ingredients

    egg whites

  • 2

    cups cake flour

  • 1

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/8

    teaspoon salt

  • 1/2

    cup butter softened

  • 1 3/4

    cups sugar

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 1/3

    cups buttermilk

Directions

Allow egg whites to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans or grease one 13 by 9 baking pan. In a medium bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with sugar and vanilla. Add egg whites. Add flour mixture with buttermilk. Spread batter into prepared pans. Bake in 350° for 28 minutes
