This luscious frosting was inspired by Hershey's addictive Golden Almond Bar. The cocoa is added to enrich the flavor and temper the sweetness of the melted milk chocolate. It is a wonderful frosting for just about any chocolate cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. 3.2 ounces Hershey's Golden Almond Bars
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In a food processor, break the chocolate into large pieces and process together with the cocoa until the almonds are coarsely chopped. Transfer to a medium bowl.
In a saucepan or microwave on high power, heat the cream to the boiling point. Pour into the chocolate and stir until smooth. Stir in the amaretto, if desired, and allow the mixture to cool for several hours until it reaches frosting consistency.
