Variation

TWO thumbs way up for this one! I halved the recipe, but still used almost an entire can of Premium cherry pie filling anyway. The cake came out moist and delicious! Definitely a keeper in my recipe box. I plan to make it with apples and cinnamon next time!

Will be making this, again, for our next church breakfast. As I didn't own a large enough pan I purchased a shallow roasting pan, used 1 1/2 cans of the cherry pie filling with a tad of cinnamon added, and slivered almonds over the top. Best & prettiest coffee cake recipe ever. It was easy for the kids to serve themselves out of the low pan, and not a crumb leftover!

In 1962 I had a friend over and we had a serious sweet tooth attack. I looked in the kitchen and found the Bisquick. I added some sugar and milk and a dash of cinnamon and poured it in a tube pan. I pulled a jar of jam from the fridge and dropped dollops in the batter and swirled it around. I sprinkled the top with melted butter and more sugar and baked it.
All from the seat of my pants - so to speak - thanks to the versatility of Bisquick.

It was delicious. Very similar to this recipe.

Makes a very pretty dessert. Tastes like a cherry danish. Easy to make but did require a little longer cooking time. A+
