Ingredients
- 1 lb beef stew meat, trimmed of fat, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 7 cups water
- 1 tsp gravy browner
- 1-1/2 cups chopped onion
- 1-1/2 cups grated potato
- 3/4 cups grated carrot
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp parsley flakes
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1/8 tsp thyme
- 1-1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Heat beef, water and gravy browner, covered in dutch oven until boiling. Boil gently for 1-1/2 hours. Beef should be very tender.
Add remaining 9 ingredients. Stir. Return to a boil. Cover. Boil gentle, stirring occasionally for 20 to 25 minutes until vegetables are tender. Taste for seasoning, adding more if needed.
