Ingredients
- 2 cups cake flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 squares melted chocolate
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 5 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and cream thoroughly. Add eggs and beat after each egg. Add melted chocolate and vanilla.
Sift flour and soda together. Add to batter a little bit at a time with buttermilk--beginning and ending with flour.
Bake in 2 9 inch round cake pans for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cool.
