Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped
  • 3 cups fresh apples, chopped
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Combine oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat after each addition. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to egg and sugar mixture. Mix well. Add vanilla and chopped apples. Pour into prepared tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes or until cake tests done.

Sauce:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 stick butter

Cook all until thick. Spoon sauce over cake while it is still warm.
