Quick Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients
- Butter Roux Frosting:
- 1 pkg. German Chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 oz. red food color
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened

Preparation
Step 1
Pour cake mix, water, oil, food color and vanilla in large bowl. Blend on low. Add sour cream and eggs, one at a time, beating well. Pour into greased and floured pans (2 8" round) and bake at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until tests done. Cook in pans 10 minutes, then turn out on wire racks and cool completely.
Frosting:
Cook milk and flour until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool to below room temperature, stirring occasionally.
Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture, very slowly, one tablespoon at a time. Beat well after each addition. Spread frosting between layers and on top, but not sides of cake. Keep in refrigerator.
