Southern Barbecue Sloppy Joes

Who doesn't like sloppy joes? Take this quick favorite beyond the realm of the sandwich: It makes a great pasta sauce or turn it into a chile by adding a can of red kidney beans, then top the chili with chopped onion and fat-free sour cream.

- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, seede and chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chile powder
- 1 # ground skinless turkey breast
- 1 c. ketchup
- 2 tbsp packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp slat
- 6 hamburger rolls, split

Step 1
In a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil. Saute, the onions, pepper, and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cumin and chili powder; when the vegetables are coated with the spices, stir in the turkey; cook, breaking apart the meat witha wooden spoon, 3 minutes. Add the ketchup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, and salt; cook until the sauce is slightly thickened and the turkey is cooked through, 4-5 minutes. Toast the rolls, ir deseired, and top with the turkey mixture.
