- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 2 tablespoons dark crème de cacao
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1
Place the semisweet and unsweetened chocolate in a medium bowl. Heat the cream and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. When the sugar is dissolved, bring the mixture to the boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the cocoa, whisking energetically until smooth; stir in the crème de cacao and vanilla. Pour the hot mixture over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes, then whisk to smooth the sauce. Serve the sauce warm or at room temperature.
