- barley on top to cover
- soak beans overnight
- 5 cups of water (original calls for 7)
- less than 1 TBS salt
- pepper liberally
- onion powder or soup mix liberally
- garlic powder liberally
- paprika
- soy sauce
- ketchup
- 1-2 potatoes
- kishka sliced 1-2 hrs before Shabbos
- flanken
- chuck
- marrow bone
- kilbasa 1/2 cut in slices
