Preparation

Step 1

In a large saucepan add oil to coat the entire bottom. Add chicken breast (well salted) and sliced onion.

Saute until the onions are opaque, add approx. 2 tbsp. paprika. Saute another minute or two to incorporate the flavor. Chicken should be pretty well cooked through at this point. Add enough water to cover chicken. (this will be the sauce) Simmer about 45 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool enough to add sour cream. Add at least 2 tbsp. of flour to sour cream (this will thicken the sauce) Add sour cream gradually to avoid curdling (I gradually add liquid from the pot to the sour cream and slowly pour it in) Bring the entire mixture back to a boil then check for thickness. Add flour as needed.

Serve over egg noodles or dumplings.

Dumplings

mix all ingredients to a thick but workable consistency Bring salted water to a boil.
Add small but equal amount of dough to form dumplings. Boil approximately 5 minutes. They float when they are done.
