Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound bulk sausage (optional)
  • 1 1/4 cups bread crumbs or dry oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup dried parsley flakes
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup catsup
  • 1 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 large can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl combine ground beef, sausage (optional), bread crumbs (or oatmeal), parsley flakes, eggs, ground pepper, garlic powder, catsup, and, and minced onion.

Blend and mix well.

Form into small (1") to medium (walnut size) meatballs.
Arrange meatballs in a medium size baking dish.

In a saucepan combine the cranberry sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and chili sauce (optional).

Stir and heat over medium heat. Spoon over meatballs.
Bake uncovered in a 350-degree oven.
