Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound margarine
  • 1-1/2 cup Sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup nuts; chopped
  • 1/2 package coconut

Step 1

Cream margarine with sugar. Add egg yolks, beat well, and set aside.

Sift together flour and baking powder and set aside.

Add vanilla to milk. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to cream
mixture. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into batter. Reserve 3 tablespoons
mix and add chocolate syrup.

Sprinkle bottom of 10 inch greased tube pan with chopped nuts. Pour in 1/2
batter, chocolate mixture, remaining batter. Sprinkle coconut on top.

Bake in 350°F oven for 30 minutes or until done.
