Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 lb lean beef ("chili grind" if possible)
- 1 1/2 lb beef sirloin, cubed
- 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 can dark beer
- 1 c. strong black coffee
- 12 oz. tomato paste
- 1 can beef broth
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3 1/2 T. chili sauce
- 1 T. chili powder
- 1 T. cumin
- 1 T. cocoa
- 1 t. oregano
- 1 t. cayenne
- 1 t. coriander
- 1 t. salt
- 2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained
- 2 15 oz. cans black beans, drained
- 3-4 chili peppers, chopped
Details
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oil, and cook onions, garlic and meat until brown.
2. Add tomatoes, beer, coffee, tomato paste and beef broth.
3. Add spices and stir in 2 cans of beans and peppers.
4. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
5. Add remaining cans of beans and simmer for another 30 minutes.
