Ingredients

  • 5 squares (1 oz. each) semi sweet chocolate
  • 3 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 stick (6 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup each pecans and walnuts

Step 1

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Melt both chocolate and the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Cool slightly. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Beat eggs, vanilla in a medium bow with electric mixer on medium speed until blended.
Add sugar and beat about 1 minute. Add melted chocolate and beat 1 minute longer. With mixer on low speed beat in flour mixture, then chocolate chips and nuts until blended.

Drop dough by 2 level tablespoons 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet. Bake 13 minutes or until cookies rise slightly and form a thin crust. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to a wire rack to cool.
