Ingredients
- 2 T. (2 pkgs.) yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 heaping t. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 t. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 sticks of butter, softened
- 6 eggs
- 9 1/2 c. flour

Step 1
Sprinkle 2 T. (2 pkgs.) yeast over 1/2 c. quite warm water. Sprinkle 1 heaping t. of sugar over this. Set aside. Let rise. Scald 2 c. milk In large bowl put 1 1/2 t. salt, 1 c. sugar and 2 sticks of softened butter. Pour hot milk over and let it melt butter. Cool a little then add 6 eggs, well beaten. Stir in yeast mixture. Add 4 c. flour, beat until very smooth. Stir into mixture 5 1/2 c. flour. Dough will be soft and sticky. Let rise in warm place 1 to 1 1/2 hours. It will more than double. Dump on well floured board. Sprinkle with handful of flour and kneed around until it isn't sticky and you can handle it. Cut in 4 parts. Melt 1 stick of butter. It's enough for the 4 parts. Take 1 part of mixture and roll in circle (use hands). Paint top with butter. Cut in 16 pie slice.
