Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 T milk
• 1 t vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 t baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• Hershey Kisses
• Extra sugar

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended. Add sugars, and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt, and gradually add to peanut butter mixture, beating until well blended. Roll into 1 inch balls. Then roll in sugar and place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately put a Hershey Kiss in into each cookie, pressing down slight. Cool.
Makes about 4 dozen.
