Puerto Rican Rice with Pinto Beans 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 2 cups canned pinto beans
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 clove (medium) garlic
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 1 packet Sazon con Azafran
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups uncooked white rice

Preparation

Step 1

Fry onions and garlic in olive oil. Add salt and pepper. Add tomato sauce and Sazon. Stir and let it sit for 2 min. Add beans, water and bouillon cube. Let boil. Add rice, stir and bring to boil again. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes. Check and if rice is properly cooked stir and let sit for 5 min. We usually eat this with Thanksgiving dinner (replaces potatoes).
