Ingredients
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2-1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon black walnut flavoring
- 2 egg whites; beaten
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black walnut flavoring
- 3/4 cup nuts; chopped

Preparation
Step 1
Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder.
Cream margarine with brown sugar. Add 4 egg yolks and 1 teaspoon black
walnut flavoring. Add buttermilk alternately with dry mixture.
Fold in 2 beaten egg whites. Pour into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
Combine beaten egg whites, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon black walnut
flavoring to form meringue. Spread over unbaked cake.
Sprinkle 3/4 cup chopped nuts on top.
Bake 40 minutes at 350 °F
