Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lbs of beef stew meat cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 4 medium carrots cut into 3/4" slices
  • 3 medium potatoes cut into 1 inch chunks
  • 3 stalks of celery cut into 1/2" slices
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 3 tbs of quick cooking tapioca
  • 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 14 1/2 oz can of diced tomatoes, Italian style
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cups water

Directions:



In a large frying pan brown meat, half at a time in olive oil. Take meat from pan and put in bowl set aside.

In a large pot or crock pot. Put veggies in order as they were cut. Add meat, sprinkle tapioca over top, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic and onion. Add bay leaves. Pour tomatoes and water over top.

Preheat over to 300. bake with lid on 2 hours and 20 minutes. Take lid off and bake an additional 10 – 15 minutes. Or use a crock pot, cook on low for approximately 10 hours. Add frozen peas during the last hour of cooking.
