Black Midnight Cake

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup shortening
• 1/3 tsp baking powder
• 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
• 2/3 cup cocoa
• 1 1/3 cups water
• 1 2/3 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 2 cups flour
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

1st step : Mix cocoa and water
2nd step : cream sugar and shortening
Beat in 3 eggs.
3rd step : Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, add vanilla and 1/3 cup of wesson oil. Preheat oven to 350. Bake 30 minutes.
FROSTING
Cream together: 1 stick butter
8 tablespoons crisco
1 cup sugar
Cook together 2/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons flour
1tsp vanilla
cook until thick, let cool. Add to creamed mixture. Beat until smooth. Spread on cake.
