Ingredients
- 4 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 tsp. white pepper
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 1 5 lb. chicken
- (pats of butter)

Preparation
Step 1
In small bowl, mix together all spices. Rinse chicken well, pat dry with paper towels, and rub all over with spice mixture (inside & out). Stuff with onion. Place on large sheet of plastic & refrigerate overnight, or at least 4-6 hrs.
Place in roasting pan, top with tabs of butter, and bake at 250 for 4 hrs. 50 min.-5 hrs. Baste every 30 min.
*Make Knorr's pkt. of Roasted Chicken gravy, adding 2 T. drippings with liquid.
