Ingredients

  • 2 (3 5/8 ounce) packages chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cut-up maraschino cherries, well-drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

In heavy saucepan, combine pudding mix, salt, melted butter and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture boils; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat; add vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat with spoon until smooth. Stir in cherries and nuts. Spread in buttered 8-inch square pan. Garnish with halved maraschino cherries or pecans, if desired. Cut in squares when firm.
