2nd Ave. Deli Cole Slaw

I usually cut this in half because it makes 2 quarts. Sometimes I just buy a bag of pre-shredded cole slaw and use half recipe of the sauce mixture.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. green cabbage
- 1/4 cup finely grated carrot
- 3 tbsp. Distilled White Vinegar
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. or so of celery seed (not celery salt)

Step 1
Cut cabbage into quarters, julienne each quarter into 1/8 inch strips with a sharp knife. Then pulse strips a few times in food processor. Don't shred it too fine, you want texture and crunch.
Place shredded cabbage in a large bowl, add carrots and mix.
In a separate small bowl, mix all other ingredients. Pour them over cabbage mixture and toss to combine thoroughly. Chill for at least several hours or overnight.
