Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cups nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts, cashews)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water

Step 1

Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Combine vanilla and water in separate cup. Spread nuts evenly in bottom of saucepan. Sprinkle cinnamon mix evenly over the nuts. Turn heat to medium. Sprinkle water and vanilla evenly over the nuts and stir continually. Glaze will quickly turn into a thick liquid. Continue stirring slowly to keep glaze coating the nuts. When the liquid has evaporated, the nuts are done. Do not overcook. Immediately remove from heat and sprinkle with 1 more Tbsp. of water. Stir again. Quickly remove nuts to a non stick surface or wax paper. Spread out to cool. To store, put in airtight container in refrigerator. To reheat, spread on plate and cover with a paper towel. Microwave for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Or cook on a non stick cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil in a 250 degree oven for approximately 7 minutes.
