Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 tab onion flakes
  • 1 tab chicken soup base
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, cut up
  • 1 10 oz bag frozen peas/carrots
  • 1 box all ready made pie crust rolls

Step 1

FILLING MIXTURE-
Make a roux with butter, flour,chicken soup base and onion flakes in a saucepan on medium heat, stirring well. Gradually add water, stirring contantly. Add salt and pepper. Stir in milk, turkey and peas and carrots. Put one uncooked pie crust on the bottom of a pie pan and add filling mixture. Then put the other pie crust on top of the filling mixture and tuck/pinch the sides of the pie together. Take a fork and poke a few holes in the top of the pie so it can vent while cooking. Bake at 425 for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for about 10 minutes before cutting. (Double all ingredients to make 2 pies)
