  • 1 (4 pound) beef roast
  • 1/2 c. soya sauce
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 whole peppercorns
  • 1 1/2 t. dried thyme
  • 1 t. garlic powder
  • French bread

Preparation

Step 1

1. Remove and discard all visible fat from roast. Place trimmed roast in slow cooker.

2. In a medium bowl, combine soya sauce, bouillon, bay leaf, thyme, and garlic powder.

3. Pour mixture over roast, then add enough water to almost cover roast.

4. Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 hours, or until beef is very tender.

5. Remove beef from broth, reserving broth.

6. Shred meat with a fork.

7. Make sandwiches using French bread. Use reserved broth for dipping.
