Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together shortening, sugar and egg yolks. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add in flour, baking powder and salt. Chill dough.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Roll into balls the size of walnuts and roll balls in mixture of nuts and cinnamon. Place 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown, but still soft.
