Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup + 1 T (or 5 T) cocoa powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Step 1

Set oven temperature at 375º.

Bring water to a boil and add oil, butter and cocoa powder. Add this liquid mixture to the flour, sugar and salt dry mixture. Add buttermilk and baking soda. Mix eggs, cinnamon and vanilla together in a small bowl and combine with batter.

Grease and flour a bundt pan and bake at 375º for 30-35 minutes.

Cool the pan for about 20 minutes before removing the cake from the pan.
