Nancy's Chili

This has been a family favorite since my own mother used to make it. It is adaptable to one's own preferences. We usually serve it with homemade corn muffins or corn bread.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or
- 1 lb spicy Italian Sausage
- 1 Tablespoon Chili powder, to taste
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder, to taste
- 1 can re-fried beans
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 soup can water
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- 2 cans kidney beans and their liquid
- 1 cup cooked rice

Preparation
Step 1
Cook ground beef and/or sausage in skillet until all of pink is gone. Add spices to taste, mix with meat and saute several minutes to bring out the flavor of the spices.
Add the tomato soup, tomato sauce and water. Add the re-fried beans and stir all well. Add both cans of kidney beans. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add 1/2-1 cup cooked white rice. Stir well. Simmer for 15 more minutes. Serve with shredded Cheddar cheese and chopped raw onions on top.
