Ingredients

  • Approx. 1 pkg. Bacon, medium thickness with moderate amount of fat. too lean will not flavor properly
  • Approx. 2 cans whole water chestnuts
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce

Step 1

Slice bacon pieces in thirds. Cut the water chestnuts in half. Wrap each water chestnut with small piece of bacon, secure with a toothpick. Sprinkle the soy and Worcestershire sauces over the top of the bacon and water chestnuts. Bake for approximately 1 hour at 375 degrees. Cooking time will vary depending upon the thickness of the bacon and type of baking dish used. Bake until bacon is done
Also. if possible, use stone baking dishes. These can burn if not baked in stone baking dishes or similar. The intense heat of the bacon grease does not disperse evenly in glassware or steel baking dishes.
Toothpicks: Use solid, wood round toothpicks, no paint or dye. Each toothpick ts used in preparation, baking and serving.
