Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts {store-bought or your favorite homemade recipe}
  • 5 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • for topping*
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2-3 tbsp turbinado sugar

Step 1

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400F.
First, prepare the filling. In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
Place one of the pie crusts in a 9" deep pie dish {you can also use an 11" dish}, then pour in the prepared apples. Pour the cup of heavy cream over the top.
Place the second pie crust on top as desired. Brush with the remaining heavy cream and sprinkle the turbinado sugar on top.
Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling. If the crust seems to be browning too quickly, cover with foil. Let cool completely before cutting. Enjoy!
