Ingredients

  • 1/4

    cup shortening

  • 1/2

    cup brown sugar

  • 1/4

    cup molasses

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1

    cup milk

  • 1

    cup flour

  • 1 1/2

    teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 3/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2

    cups bran

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and eggs. Beat well. Add milk, then bran. Combine dry ingredients and add to liquids. Bake at 400°F for 18 – 20 minutes.
