Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Round
  • 1 C Seasoned Flour
  • 1/2 C Onion, Sliced
  • 1-2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 C Beef Broth or Bouillon
  • 1/4 t Salt
  • 1/4 t Thyme
  • 1 Bay leaf, small

Step 1

Cut meat into serving sized pieces. Pound the meat thin with a mallet or the edge of sturdy plate. Dredge pieces in seasoned flour and brown in oil in a large pot. Set meat aside.

In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic in small amount of oil. Pour off as much oil as possible. Add broth and seasonings. Return meat to the pot and simmer 1-2 ½ hours until the meat is fork-tender.

Cooking liquid makes an excellent gravy and can be thickened with a small amount of seasoned flour.

SEASONED FLOUR: Combine 1 C Flour +1 T Paprika + 1 T salt + 1 t pepper.
