Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 large cabbage
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 lb cooked smoked sausage, cut into 1 inch slices
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

Step 1
Fill a large dutch oven w/water, bring to boil, add cabbage & cook about 20 minutes. remove cabbage, peel leaves & cut out large veins, place veins in the bottom of a 5 qt slow cooker
In a large bowl combine ground beef, rice, eggs, thyme & salt & pepper to taste. Shape into 16 rolls, place each roll in 1 cabbage leaf (or 2 small), overlapping the leaves as needed
Place one layer of the cabbage rolls o top of the cabbage veins in the slow cooker, top w/half the sausage slices, half tomato sauce. repeat layers, cover & cook on low 5-6 hrs
