Ingredients

  • 3 carrots -shredded
  • 1 ham bone with some ham left on it
  • 2 large onions diced
  • 2 stalks celery diced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 bags dried split peas
  • ham stock if needed

Preparation

Step 1

Cook ham bone in large pot of water. Boil till meat falls off the bone (about 2 hours) remove from water let sit to cool. While ham bone is cooling add the other ingredients to the pot and more water if needed. Salt and Pepper to taste. Cut meat off bone and add meat to boiling water mixture. You can also add some ham stock if you think it might need more flavoring.
