Merry Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/3 c soft shortening
• 1/3 c sugar
• 1 egg
• 2/3 c honey
• 1 tsp lemon flavoring
• 2 3/4 c plain flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix shortening, sugar, egg, honey, flavoring. This can be done in food processor or with mixer. Empty into large bowl.
Add flour, soda, salt. Mix well.
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Roll dough to 1/4" thick.
Cut into shapes.
Place 1" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown on bottom.
Allow to cool, then frost and decorate. (I like to use sour cream frosting)
